The first black model to grace the cover of French Vogue and TIME magazine, Naomi Campbell has been an irrepressible and at times provocative star of the modelling scene since the 1980s. In her various guises as a supermodel, entrepreneur, socialite, activist and actress, she has enjoyed a remarkable career with contemporary legends of fashion and photography.
Now the story of that career is being celebrated in a two-volume, limited edition book published by Taschen, and including exclusive autobiographical text, magazine covers, stunning professional images, personal snapshots and video stills.
“The book is a culmination of my life’s work,” Campbell told Garage Magazine. “It includes all that I’ve done in the fashion business for the past 29 and a half years. The book is a timeline of my career, and has allowed me to remember and give credit to all the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. It was important both to Benedikt Taschen and I to find all of my pictures and compile them into two really beautiful books.”
The Collector’s Edition comprises 1,000 numbered copies, each signed by Naomi Campbell and presented in a multiple artwork by British pop art luminary Allen Jones.
Subscription Price: €1,500 (from 1 May 2016, €2,000)
